Golden Bell is pleased to announce that another $50,000 has been granted to 13 local public schools and a local scholarship fund this year! Quality education is a top priority of the GBRCC and for the past 19 years, Golden Bell, has been there to provide financial assistance to the local public schools of Boca Raton in grades K-12. With this newest round of funding, the Golden Bell Education Foundation has now granted more than $978,000 since its inception in 1991 and we are on course to donate our $1,000,000 in 2011!

"This impressive milestone shows that the business community of Boca Raton understands that we have not only an obligation but a responsibility to ensure that our youth, our future, have the best possible opportunities to succeed," said Golden Bell Chairman J.C. Perrin of U.S. Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management. "The probabilities of their success are enhanced by supporting their education."

What is the Golden Bell Education Foundation?

The Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, Inc., known as Golden Bell is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that was created in 1991 by the Chamber’s Board of Directors as a separate operating entity for the sole purpose of supporting the Boca Raton Public School System. Since its inception, Golden Bell has granted more than $978,000 to Boca Raton’s public schools. The Foundation’s Board of Directors believes that, now more than ever, a quality education is the cornerstone of a successful business community. Golden Bell’s on-going vision is to perpetuate the following goals:

Supplemental Funding to provide the additional funds to enhance and broaden the scope of available funding and to offset shortfalls in State and Federal budgets.
Innovative Educational Programs to provide otherwise unavailable funding to support programs that are designed to enhance academic achievement.
Academic Excellence to ensure that our children are afforded the best possible opportunity to achieve success in academics.

We invite all Boca Raton Public Schools to submit applications for a Golden Bell Grant. Funds are awarded to deserving and innovative programs. The Golden Bell Foundation’s Board of Directors convenes annually to review grant applications and select recipients. Recipients are notified during the summer and receive their grants at the Chamber’s September Membership Breakfast. In addition, the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and Golden Bell recognize all sponsors at this September Breakfast.
