Organization's Mission: The Centre for the Arts' volunteers play an important role in allowing us to bring outstanding programming such as the Centre Kids Series and the Festival of the Arts BOCA to the community. During the 2008 Festival of the Arts BOCA, over 200 volunteers performed many vital duties in a number of different areas. These committed individuals contributed their time, energy, skills and enthusiasm. Volunteer duties include ushering, information table attendants, taking tickets, manning the Festival's command center, and answering phones to name a few. However, one of the most important duties for a volunteer, is to become an "Ambassador" for the Centre for the Arts. We rely on these goodwill ambassadors to spread the word through the community of the outstanding programming and opportunities the Centre provides year-round.

These scholarships are four-year commitments and are designed to bridge the gap between other financial aid and what the scholar and their families can afford. In addition, the Scholarship Fund provides support services designed to benefit their scholars. No other organization of this kind provides so much support to their scholarship recipients.

Ages 14 - adult. Have you ever considered taking an active part in a nature center? Volunteering at Gumbo Limbo will give you the opportunity to become knowledgeable about a variety of nature indigenous to South Florida, while interacting with visitors from around the world. We offer a variety of classes for volunteers to learn more about the coastal island, hardwood hammock, and sea turtle conservation. The gift store is looking for volunteers who enjoy retail and have experience with computers. We also need volunteers with carpentry skills to assist with boardwalk repairs. There is a mandatory, two part training session offered every month for new volunteers. Call our Volunteer Coordinator to learn more or to set up an interview (561) 338-1588. A fee of $20 covers training handbook and volunteer t-shirt.

Organization's Mission: Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, (RFB&D) a nonprofit, volunteer driven organization, is the nation's educational library serving people who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, dyslexia, or other physical disability We are seeking volunteers to help us produce audio textbooks at our studio located on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University. Volunteer assignments include directing, reading, pre-production activities, quality control and more. Teen volunteers can earn service learning hours and are welcome when volunteering with a parent or parent approved adult. We offer our volunteers flexible scheduling options Tuesday through Saturday. Evening shift also available on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings.
